The theme of April is the restoration of peace. To have peace is to have love, joy, health and abundance. It is to have your purpose made evident and your calling inspired once more and made strong. It is this purpose that gives meaning to your life. A life connected to and remembering Heaven is always full of meaning. Only in peace can you hear the Voice of God. An egoic life rushes between sacrifice and indulgence. If your life seems to be only sacrifice, you are denying the indulgence that keeps you enslaved. It may be some physical pleasure or some emotional indulgence, such as a tantrum. It may even be your desire to win at any cost or that you are trying to prove you are the good one. The indulgence may be your own righteousness or wanting to have things always be your way. It may even be your belief in your own superiority or inferiority. Peace comes from Oneness, the flow that comes of equality, the absence of the conflict from differences.
Yet, where peace is lost there is attack and judgment instead. Judgment is the desire to attack someone who doesn’t act the way you want them to. This is your ego’s will that tries to fit the world into the demands you make of it. What most people don’t realize is that the intent and goal of attack come down to the desire to murder because the world didn’t follow the will of your ego or bow to your specialness. These intentions are the opposite of love that extends itself to give and is thus naturally open to receive.
To clean up the destruction in the world, we must first heal our minds of our attack thoughts and grievances. The world acts out what is in our mind including the personal unconscious and collective unconscious. The painful past was set up as our excuse from the depth of our mind to separate, be special and do things our way. Part of the grace of April is that much of what we have denied and buried away will be revealed. This may be quite unpleasant or may even feel overwhelming, but it is actually a gift for us to see what are the real problems holding us back. Hatred, self-hatred, feelings of failure, attack and judgments on others may be revealed. Turn all that is revealed over to the Holy Spirit. Give all your perception, belief and vision regarding your life over to the Holy Spirit. Let yourself be shown a new way for yourself, your relationship and the world. You are God’s Child. The rest was illusion made by separation and specialness that can be let go of as a bad investment.
It is important to realize that what is outside you in the world is from what is inside you. This gives you back your power because you now have the ability to change your thoughts and thus your perception. Deny this and you become a victim, helpless in the face of what seems to be happening in the world apart from you. Yet it is not apart from you and your hidden wishes. Let us take a common example that many people see as their main misery. It comes from their parents’ fighting as they grew up. This is a vicious circle, a conflict between our feeling victimized and what we have come to heal. We felt we were on a battleground, and we seemed to be helpless victims. Yet we are not the effect of the world we see, but its hidden cause. God, the Prime Cause, created us to be creators, not victims. Yet when we judge and attack, we become makers of the dark world we see. Our perception fits our judgment, yet we pretend to be an effect of the world we see. Instead of being a helpless victim on the battleground of our growing up, we could instead see ourselves above the battleground of our parents’ war. At a deeper level of our mind, our parents’ war was reflecting the war inside us because we hoped to bring the two soul fragments that our parents represented together in wholeness and a new creative, harmony. From above the battleground the perspective is much different. We see our parents like children squabbling. From above the battleground, we are no longer in misery nor are we desolate.
From above the battleground, we can rain down peace, innocence and miracles. This can change the whole pattern of our lives, giving us back our power and our true heart leading us to take a more powerful, confident stance.
We, who are the cause in our lives, have made ourselves an effect and a victim, the weakest stance there is in life. If you go back to each victim situation of your life and go beyond your denial, you will find not only heartbreaks but also attacks and revenge. These were meant to be soul lessons that we failed but which then became self-destructive patterns. It is now time to remove the scars as well as the pain underneath these incidents. April is the perfect month to transform our mind and our world with the grace and miracles available through bonding.
We can ask to be above every conflict we were ever in as well as every attack we ever made on ourselves and on others and choose to have it be better. Instead of what happened we can ask to be brought above this battleground to gain perspective and rain down peace and miracles as this is God’s Will for us and for everyone. We can ask to be there with Christ or Quan Yin and see the situation through their eyes. From the belief in our specialness comes the desire to compare, be better than, judge, separate and attack. God’s Will created us all the same as love, light and limitlessness. We thought we could make something better than God’s Will by being different, separate and special. When we are all the same in spirit there is nothing to fight for or against or be better than anyone. There is no need to defeat or be above another. Only specialness demands this from everyone, even from God and we lost the joy of how we were created in the alternative. Our irritations, anger and upsets all come from specialness. Our joy comes from joining.
April is a month of family and the possibility of restored bonding beyond any desire for specialness and difference as they feed the wars of our mind and the conflicts in the world. When there is no need to compete or be special, then destructiveness dissolves and disappears. And there is no need for victims and victimizers to enact their endless game of blame.
Bonding leads to unity, peace, common cause and common wealth. God gave us all common cause because He gave us Oneness as well as His Love which has no specialness. In every situation that calls for correction we can ask Heaven for holy family bonding for our mind and for any situation at hand to bring us closer together restoring us to peace and the giftedness within us all. It is this bonding, the joining beyond all differences that will save us, our families and the world. It is only your specialness that comes between you and your partner, everyone and your awareness of the Love of God. It is only competition and the need to be different and better that destroys relationships. This leads to dissociation and independence away from yourself, your purpose and your relationship which is your gateway to Heaven. All your attack, judgment and blame are to establish your specialness over others and have others bow in obeisance in recognition of it. This leads to differences, comparison, distance and conflict. You can only attack another if you see them as different from you. Peace comes from wholeness and bonding. Our mind and its conflicts are mirrored in the world. Our specialness demands its pound of flesh. We could have bonding instead, which is love and success with ease, with all for One and one for all. This is a different goal than the one our ego has because the ego is made of separation, competition and difference.
It is time to seek what it is we really want. God’s Will and our true will are the same. We could turn over our beliefs, perception and vision to the Holy Spirit to restore our true direction and to correct our goals. Otherwise, we will build our lives on the illusion of our ego and its pursuits, that as Yogananda wrote, won’t have any meaning ten minutes after we have left our bodies. We have built a special identity in a personal world made through separation, pain and illusion seeking personal goals to celebrate our superiority or if that fails us, we aim for inferiority and the attention we get from failure and suffering. Our world is a giant compensation for the meaninglessness of the world we built. This is why we experience meaninglessness from time to time especially as we reach higher stages of consciousness and experience the false pretenses under which we have been living.
It is love that gives us meaning as well as its practical forms, such as healing, helpfulness and forgiveness and these dissolve illusions. Our specialness is treacherous to us and those we love and thus to bonding, partnership and friendship. Anyone you see as having hurt you come from and gives rise to your specialness. You know you are going in the right direction when you instead learn the difference between happiness and indulgence, as well as the difference between truth and being right. Take advantage of the grace that comes with the restoration of bonding available in April and thereafter. April is a time of resurrection and miracles if you have the eyes to see it. As the challenges become greater as the year wears on so will grace and miracles increase as Heaven seeks to support us. We have made a world of illusions that comes from specialness, seeing others as having wounded us and separation that comes from it. Let us ask to see beyond the conflicted perception to the world that Heaven made instead out of love. You can want to see that world with all your heart and mind. Keep turning over your perception, your beliefs that made your experience and the vision of life you made over to Quan Yin to see the heavenly world created by love. If you achieve enough bonding and the peace that goes with it, it cracks this everyday egoic reality built by pain and separation and can begin to show you to a beauty unsurpassed in this world.
We are coming to the end of a cycle in the world. Whether it is personal or collective, it is shown by the amount of darkness present. This is the transition from one chapter to another. The new chapter is discovered when your innocence is recovered. It is the Holy Spirit’s function to accomplish this, and this is God’s Will so it will be accomplished. Life flows easily in what is to be your new chapter when you relinquish the attachments to the past where there was partial separation. This lets go of the guilt you have accumulated and it is dissolved as the illusions it is. Illusion comes from holding others hostage to your specialness. Every disappointment, shattered dream and failure shows where the illusion of specialness has hidden, built on your pain and blame. Specialness provides the ego’s defense for all illusions. All heartbreak and loss is the loss of specialness. All your misery is that of your ego’s specialness tempting you to die at its loss. But what dies is the death of your ego’s specialness and the awakening to how you were created as God’s extension and His Child.
You could reflect on every trauma you ever had and notice that it was a loss of specialness that you felt you had to recover from to proceed. Someone didn’t treat you special enough and as you rejected this you felt rejected from your rejection and suffered as much. The pain of all rejection comes from when you reject to separate. To be free it takes not just forgiving others for not treating you special, it calls for forgiving yourself and your specialness that finally sets you free from falling into the same trap. To be a master is to realize you are no one special. In having mastered a certain talent it can open you to full mastery, which is living by the grace of Heaven in all that you do and feeling its profound peace because you, yourself realize you need do nothing (A Course in Miracles) because Heaven has things in hand. Stop carrying the world on your shoulders. It’s not your job. Turn it over to Heaven.
Forgiving your specialness peels back the compensation and busyness that hides your fear and feelings of failure. It heals the pain and valuelessness that your independence was concealing. This healing restores remembrance of your connection with all others and with God. By healing bit by bit, you begin to remember your Oneness with God and your identity as God’s Child.
The coming darkness need not be anything but a transition. Have faith. Embrace the birth gracefully. To resist it is to make it even more fearful and this need not be. It is not God’s Will nor your true will that you suffer. Keep your faith. Use your forgiveness. Let go of your attachments which are simply the specialness that brings you pain in your loss of it. Realize your partnership not only with your partner but with all humanity. Your mind is part of the mind of all people so what you do can help the world. How you see others, you see yourself. As you give to others, you give to yourself. The end of the passage through darkness is the elevation to knowing yourself as God created you forever loved and limitless. It is a time when miracles can abound when you recognize your Oneness with God and that your love and God’s Love are One.
